WHY DO I NEED A LAWYER?  CAN’T I DO IT MYSELF?

Good questions. Here are four answers.

First, there is a lot to know about the law.  Lawyers spend years learning it and their days studying it.  Most folks don’t have the time, or the interest, to devote their lives to the law.  Most folks need a lawyer only on special occasions.  This is probably why you are looking at my site now.

Second, you have only one chance to get it right with the law.  Unless you do it right the first time, you are usually foreclosed from coming back to the law a second time for the same problem.  It’s not like repairing your car, where you can have a mechanic do the job over, if you don’t get it right yourself.

Third, it will probably save you a lot of money in the long run – not to mention a tremendous amount of worry and anxiety to have a lawyer at your side when legal trouble comes knocking.  Mistakes in the law can be and often are very costly.  Get it done right the first time is the best rule to follow with legal problems.

Fourth, and maybe the most important reason, the other side probably has one or more lawyers giving it advice.  You may not see them, but they are there – and they put you at a great disadvantage.
